Insurance for young drivers

I'm 22 with a TT import, CAT one alarm and 4 years no claims, no points either

My renewal came up for £1409, any other young drivers out there who know where I can get it any cheeper, just called one company and they wouldn't even give me a quote.....

Everyone will give you a different answer here due to the erratic ways in which insurance companies work. I have put together a list of companies that have provided qood prices and/or good service for Zeds (both import and UK spec) in the past.

Thats quite a list,

Thanks,....

Im probably the youngest here at 20 and I have done a lot of research into insurance,

My best quote was from firebond @ www.firebond.co.uk came in at £1800

stock manual UK zx300, 0 years NCB, clean license,

they will sort out import insurance for you as well although i don't think it is direct through them, (i was quoted 4k for an import)

Looks like i'm going to have to stick with Willsure with £1400, tried about 8 now, Tesco's was the next best with £1440, but said that I had to have a tracker fitted, and the worst was an online quote for £8400

You might try Privilege. At 23 with 3 years NCB, I insured a import NA with them on a US license for about 850 a year.

£8400!! LOL

I think I had one of about £6500 which was amusing at the time!

Make sure you try A-Plan as they seem very good on Z's. I'm sure the number is on AndyP's list somewhere.

Mike - £1800 squids! It's a joke really - over about 3 years it's like paying for owning 2 Z's!! Forget the insurance and just get a loan and buy a second Z, then if you crash it you've got a spare! At least you can sell one when you've finished with it, unlike insurance which is money down the drain LOL

I'm full of top ideas biggrin.gif

yuh its a joke, but you get what you pay for and I wanted a Zed so i needed to pay that for insurance :O)

im 21 soon so next year should be a bit cheaper smile.gif

I'm with Citroen Insurance and got a stunning deal of 938.36 GBP (It's around that figure)

This includes my 'premium' points (9 in total), 2yrs ncb, legal aid etc. The excess is 250 GBP.

I'm just a boy at 24.

yep defo agree with firebond. I am 22 with 3 yers NCB and cost me £1142 fully comp on uk twin tub. I am on a clasic policy cos i am insured on another car (reduced risk)

Try Elephant.co.uk

£1233 full-comp on a UK MKIV Supra TT, exhaust and Racelogic traction control, 22, 3 points (SP60), 0NCB, huge fault claim in December (£12k). They will also cover imports if you give them a call, and I've found their service to be exemplary, both in normal enquiries and when having to make a claim.

Thanks Bruce, called Privilege and they have quoted £1218.

Wish I had a US licence though,

Hyperformance don't deal with anyone under 25, and Elephant don't deal with imported ZX's.
