April 11, 200718 yr Hi guys My speedo is stuck on max speed. I've unplugged and plugged the connections at the back several times, but this hasn't cured the fault. Would a faulty converter do this? Could it be the actual speedo unit itself? Could it be a faulty signal from the ECU? Any ideas? Many thanks Jon
April 11, 200718 yr By the way, is this black shrink wrapped item at the bottom left of this picture the converter? (My Zed's an import.)
April 11, 200718 yr make sure u dnt get stopped by the police or u will be thrown str8 in the nick! lol! you could try takin the front cover off and pushin it back manually?
April 11, 200718 yr and........ any ideas what this black box is? I've found it unplugged at the rear of the speedo panel. Thanks Jon
April 11, 200718 yr The 'Shrink Wrapped' item is the convertor. The un-plugged item is the 'Chime' As for the needle, as Geordie has stated, remove the front cover and 'GENTLY' push it back to it's proper position. Once it's past the 12 O'Clock position, it should fall to the 0 point with no trouble. If it doesn't, I'd say your clock is fooked! :D HTH Dave
April 11, 200718 yr Pushing the needle back worked!!!! BIG THANKS! :) Unplugging and plugging the connectors has cured my sticky fuel gauge. Bonus!
May 22, 200718 yr Do you also have problems with the speedo under/over reading or not reading at all? I had these problems with mine until friday when I ditched the speedo converter and swapped a resistor on the back of the speedo dial itself.
