i had the same problem. i think there's an electrical cable attached to the seat belt. i disconnected it and have not had any problems since.

I have wound it in a little by hand and now it's neither coming nor or retracting :confused:

Sounds like the inertia return spring has gone on it mate. Best bet is get a secondhand item I am sure someone who is braking will have one going cheap?

hi budy mine did the same when i took it apart one of the little plastic cogs was in bits i took it out and its been fine ever since

you will need to take all the doorcard out and its located where the seatbelt returns its a bit fiddly but you should be able to see the mechanism and see if anythings amis ..good luck buddy
