I'm not a complete idiot, I have scoured a few old threads looking for names of insurance companies that might be able to help me.

Basically, I have called all of these:

RAC

Carole Nash

A Plan

Heritage

Bell Direct

Chaucer

None of them can help me, because I want an agreed value, it is an import with a shed load of mods.

Does anyone know which other companies might be worth a call?

Thanks, Mike...

You have to ask to speak to an underwriter and not some nob on the sales desk. Also you should be looking at actual insurance companies and not group brokers who sell policies under their own wrapper as it were.

Or speak to specialist brokers who do exactly that. Their used to be a pretty good crowd on here. can't remember what they were called.

I'm with Zurich and have an agreed valuation but I have 5 other cars with them. and spend over £3k a year on car insurance.

I had an agreed value with Haughtons Insurance and mine was a jap import.

Maybe worth a call .. dont have their number to hand at the moment though.

Mine had a lot of mods as well, all of them declared ;)

Adrian Flux do agreed value, but can be a bit pricey for zed's in my opinion, compared with others. I am insured with them on my import, as I get a very well priced agreed value policy on my GT40 as a second car with them, otherwise I would look elsewhere

Well I pay £800 a year now for my Zed. and bear in mind I'm in my 40's live in the sticks and had the car with them soon 8 years. Was £900 last year and £1100 year before.

They gave me a good offer 2 years back which is why Zurich drop their price. I also know that Zurich are one of the companies Flux use.

call Broadsure Direct. ask to speak to Martin Brooks or Martin Wright, tell them you are a friend of Paul Crew.

not sure if they deffo do agreed value but will help you out if they can :)

Have you found anyone good Dave?

Im about to go with Livingstones Warman (think there listed on zclub site). Agreed value on mine of 20k, all mods declared (500hp) about 750 pounds. If you ask for Susan Irving, she's been real helpful. Their number 01935 706258.

oh yes

A-Plan have just sliced my premium in half (from £1550 to £790), including protected NCB and unlimited mileage

Carole Nash came up with the best again for a classic, with the full body kit fitted £261

I presume it is that low because it is a classic policy.

That is a massive saving.

The trouble I have is that it is my only car, it is an import and I want an agreed value of £5,200.

I have just renewed with Adrian Flux but I managed to knock them down to £860 from £1100 after I got a really good quote from SKY insurance.

 It pays to shop around

Until next year LOL :smash:
