Cool...about what a TT with 1 bar of boost is capable of. So vid kinda shows a good comparison between what a TT vs NA would be like :)

agreed,i always remember some sig on another forum saying "drag racing in an auto is like competing in the special olympics, even if you win your still a retard"

Paul.

Autos are great for dragging in, you can still mess up big time and it takes alot of skill to work for traction as the gearbox has a mind of its own so you have to learn how it changes gear and move your accelerator accordingly :D

Well there is that train of thought but i managed to knock .5 of a second off purely by learning how the autobox worked and adapting my starts when i went the first time.

It's a bit of both, as you say though overall its the car that does all the work from then on

Excuse me while I get back on my seat (fell off laughing so hard)

Unless your Auto has 500bhp or more, it's gonna be dullsville, and a completely skill-free zone.

I had an auto Galant VR4 once. I took it to my local drag-strip. I raced it once. No point doing any more runs, nothing is going to change lol.

Auto's are perfect for the drag-strip. Just as well they're good for something I suppose

Yeah blah blah... autobox is shite... blah blah... no skill in driving them... blah blah

Oh as if i've never heard all these comments before
