You can get 'em for about £225 + either £10 per month subscription or £200 for a one-off lifetime payment. You can read all the blurb, but they REALLY DO change the way you watch TV. You'd be amazed how much motor sport and stuff is on in the middle of the night that you would normally miss unless you went searching for it.

Can you export the recorded material from TiVO to PC hard disk - what ports are there are the back of the Tivo?

 

I want to capture Sky Digital and record it back to either SVCD or DVD... any ideas?

Well the TiVO is just a pc running Linux and there are all sorts of hackers twiddles that can be done like adding a network card etc etc, so that may be possible. I've not had mine very long and haven't begun to fiddle with it so I don't know all the in's and outs. The place to get the inside info is here :- http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/

 

However, there is the facility to export recorded programs to a video recorder over a SCART connector, so I don't see why putting it onto something else shouldn't be possible.
