Water temp sender

Of the two senders in the top water tube, which one is for the ECU and which one is for the gauge.

Can I remove the gauge sender and put in my after market one.

Featured Replies

if you look at your engine from in front of the car the left one is the ecu one and the right one is for the dash gauge..

not sure about using it for the aftermarket one cos its probably as useless as the stock gauge to be honest..

i got mine from nick at http://www.gaugeplace.co.uk

Thanks guys, that saves me cutting hoses and putting one of those connectors in that leak all over the place.

just out of curiosity scrawni... do you happen to know the thread size and type of the standard gauge sender that we are talking about?

I have not had chance to look yet, but if the Japs are anything to go by it wont be 1/8th bsp we wouldn't be that lucky.

I'll look tomorrow.

Right mate, I have looked at it and its not 1/8th bsp like I said it wouldn't be.

I will take it to work tonight and have a check but I think its a metric thread, either way I have to get an adapter for my new sensor.
