Hi Chaps. Having a problem with a bad connection from what my friend informs me is the main engine fuse. Forgive my ignorance, it's the big sucker with a blue wire loop coming out of it. Can any body tell me what I need to ask for? and any guidance as to where to get one. Always appreciate the input.

"the main engine fuse. " ? like a fuse link for the entire engine ??

" it's the big sucker with a blue wire loop coming out of it" where are you looking . engine bay, under the dash ...or do you mean the blue wire that seems to be in place of a fuse in the fuse box itself ?

Theres a fuse box on the drivers side bulkhead, nothing to do with the main fusebox. On the very left hand side, there is a huge removable fuse that has a loop of blue wire coming out and going back in. The loose connection means that I have no ignition, no dash lights, no power to the starter. Everything else works fine lights, heater, interior lights etc. If I wiggle the fuse and acheive connection, it all powers up and starts just fine. Any clues? should I post a piccie?

ah. okay..the little fuse box infront of the battery ( for me that is with a left hand drive ) ..the blue wire is marked up as "Battery" on the fuse box ..and ,´can´t you just remove it like a fuse link..i.e clipped in complete with base ?

Oh yeah, I can take it out fine. It just has a really bad connection, so I want to replace it. Would like to order one from Nissan. Don't know what to ask for.

gotcha...I´d take the thing out when at the nissan dealer and show them it ..i think you´ll find it´s called a "fusible link" as opposed to a "fuse" ...I´m sure they´d be able to find the right one.

07 90 - 09 91 wire fuse link # 24021-V5020 Blue type

that should be the one i think

tbh by the time i send it now and it gets to you you could of possibly popped up and collected it. I wont post it now as it wont leave til tuesday anyway and we will see if we can get anyone to collect or drop it off before then ?

So that blue wire loop is standard? Thats a relief, I always thought someone had bodged it.

Will see you on Sunday then. I don't have SatNav, any chance of some easy directions? If you post them up, maybe a few others will turn up eh?

easy directions are junction 22 M5 then follow A38 to bristol and as you drop in to a village called Rooksbridge you will see a SPEED camera turn right just after it into GILLS lane and were down there on the right hand side as the road bends round to the left.

M5 jct22 then take 3rd exit A38 then follow to another roundabout and take second exit A38, then follow until speed camera and turn right into Gills lane. and we are down the lane on the right hand side as the road bends left.
