Sounds like it needs a good bleed Emy.Dont forget the pipe that runs to the front of drivers side wing in engine bay.If you was abit nearer Nottingham I could ask my M8 to sort it for you as he owns his own clutch and gearbox centre. He would suck out all your fluid and fill it up from underneath so you defo dont get any air in your system.

well my pathetic attempts to pump the clutch  :o , Rob

not really ther gears did last week when it was getting a bit stiff, mind you first gear has always been like that,

Exact same problem as a mate of mine has got. He tried bleeding it all but no luck. He put in a new stage 3 clutch just a couple of days before his stopped going into gear. Now he is looking to try the process of elimination by changing all things involved in the clutch system e.g. the cylinders and all. Do keep us posted how it goes with you and if my mate has any luck with his, I'll let you know. ;)

Well try pumping fast and full travel of the clutch, then hold down, then try selecting a gear.

Mine had this prob last time i had engine/gearbox out and back in. Tried filling system from bottom, no good. tried all 3 bleed points, no good.

In the end my dad sat in the car me underneath the car. I pushed in the slave cylinder all the way in by hand, the master cylinder made a clunk sound (1 way valve maybe??) and the clutch was perfect! Never had a problem since.

I'll have a go tonight, though day of hell at work, I feel quite tired and the thought of pumping a clutch fills me with so much joy

EXACTLY the same as mine. New RPS clutch fitted by people I now consider to be con-artists (thankfully no longer advertising on this site). Started with first gear but got worse over about six months and a garage I trust has just diagnosed that I need a new clutch master cylinder.

£210. Too much for this month as i just spent loads on repairing other bits on the car. I am trying to think of bits on my zed that have not gone wrong and I am now struggling.

I love the car but maybe zed ownership is coming to a close for something a bit more reliable.

Exactly what my mate has been looking for to get his back on the road. Think he is going to have to go for a brand new one too from Nissan maybe as no way they can be found else where. I've tried.

It will be the same at any Nissan Dealer Babe just give them your car spec .

PS. the master cylinder is around £75.00 as a complete unit.Thats at rear of engine bay bolted to the fire-wall got the little pull off cap you use to top up fluid. The slave unit is under neath car bolted to side of gear box.Seal kit for that is around £8.50. HTH........Vinz
