In process of removing my engine but having a bit of a problem getting to the last air con pump bolt (what a ridiculous position!!) I'm guessing I need some kind of flexible extension but is it best tackled from above or below?

I always do it from above (sort of..between the engine and ac pump), using a small ratchet spanner size 14.

if it's really stuck, you can use a bar as a lever between the engine and spanner and put some extra force on the spanner

i know the one you mean had me in tears, i got mine from undearneath with a small ratchet

A lot of people leave this bolt out for next time, it's not really needed :)

leave tha bolt the last thing you do pull engine up as if your removing and the extra few inches of height make it easier.

I took my engine out last week and left everything on the engine, raised the engine high enough to undo the last bit of wiring to altenator, came out no problem.
