It's basically one chip with two (or more) maps which can be activated via a toggle switch somewhere in the cabine of the car. I know AndyP can do them for you and so can John Dixon.

HTH

I made a more basic version by soldering wires from the chip socket and running them into the glove box to a ZIF socket so I can just pop a new chip in whenever I like.

just got one of these from Kirby, just waiting for it to turn up then i should be able to tell you what make it do what it does, hopefully.... with out taking it apart

Kinda high risk of interference like that, although top marks for ingenuity !

Yeah but I used a bit of shielded multi-core cable so there's only the chip left unprotected although it's mounted in a small black plastic box so nobody knows what it is ;)

Means I can easily test any chip in seconds without lifting the "floor boards" LOL

Nice. I did think about mounting a ZIF in the ECU casing but never got around to it.

That's a good idea. :D

I've got one that uses 1001 EPROMS I used to use before I had an emulator. Can sell you that if you want it.

i was told to contact you

im looking to up the car a bit, and was told to start with the ecu?

already has

HKS AIR IND KIT

HKS S/STEEL TURBO PIPES

MONGOOSE EXH (S/STEEL DOWNPIPES)

?

I've done this, was a b1tch to solder in, the pins are fatter than the normal socket ones so it's very tight. Then I fitted my AEM about a week later so was a waste of time lol.

don't suppose anyone has a map of a valet mode? you know, one with practically 0 boost and a speed limiter set at around 30mp/h? 95tt auto.

Boost is not controlled by the ECU but a restricted speed is easy to do. Might do one myself and keep it in the glovebox for when I leave it for an MOT etc LOL

Just an idea guys but if you had a third option, there could be a security mode that disables the car?

Never thought of that.

With my setup I suppose I could just remove my chip when I leave the car and it ain't going anywhere even if they got past the alarm/imobiliser LOL

VERY GOOD IDEA ;)

what would be involved just a switch probably.

What abloody good idea! Is there a limit to how many maps you can switch between? Would be good to have four

City driving

Valet

Disabled

Beast mode

Don't know if this is doable guys I presume the chip has maps on it for when the knock sensor is activated, would it be possible to have an led light up for when this happens?

I got a mk1 Lex GS300 sport and that has a switchable ecu next to shifter maybe someone on a lexus forum knows more and could offer you a point in the right direction. Im not sure if its got 2 ecu's or two maps, ight be worth a try.
