Help Brakes!

Hi Guys,

I am going to buy some Skyline R33 brakes on Sat!

People on this forum will know my Lack of Knowledge concerning all things Z related and I would like to ask a couple of questions!

How do I know they are the real thing, is there anyway I can identify they are R33 calipers and discs, and that they are the right ones to fit a Z, although I must admit the guy does seem pretty genuine?

What should I be looking for to ascertain whether they are warped, calipers seized and how would I know that?

I am right in thinking that it is the R33 brakes that bolt straight onto the Z32?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Hi Mark, yes they will bolt srtaight on a Z,as for buying secondhand discs IMHO I would not,all you can do is look for any wear marks in them, but you can't tell if they are warped just by looking frown.gif.

The calipers are black with the words Brembo on the side.

The discs should be a maximum of 32 mm thick, the minimum thickness for a skyline disc is 28mm. So take a long a vernier and measure them, anything less than 30mm and it is not worth purchasing.

Who are you buying them from?

Heres some pics I found in "rides":
