JAE is always THE number one Japanese car event of the year. I'll be there.

 

I'd like to go to the Billing event too but I'm not sure I can make the dates. It won't be as big as JAE even if it does have more 300ZXs.

Not sure why another event was planned the previous week. Everyone raves about JAE, then something else gets sorted at Billing the week before....which is in the same location, ie 3 and a half hours drive from here.

 

Would have been good if Zclub could have had their 30th at JAE maybe? I dunno.

 

I'm sticking with JAE so far. Providing I can get away and the weather is good.

 

Maybe the number is far greater? Maybe some 300zx.co.uk people will be with the Zclub and won't put their names down here?

I wont be able to do both weekends. I have had to beg for the first weekend off work. But I can see why there has been a bit of disapointment JAE is a very big event and although the weather almost fooked it up last year it is a great do. Billing was the original big Jap show as far as I can make out? I am looking forward to the exclusivity of Billing this year and I am in support of the committee choosing this as the place for the AGM. Being a full member of both clubs it is the obvious one for me personnally to choose. So lets see how it goes and if it dont work maybe next year we can return to JAE?

i think all this has stemmed from there being so little interest from the Z club at JAE, think there was 2 or 3 cars there last year and i would imagine the Z club have driven the new event at billing and we are following??

 

i think it was the worse thing JAE ever did moving from billing as it was simply the best event of the year saying that apart from the storm last year at peterborough was a good weekend, just a shame there was a few who spoilt it (you know who you are LOL)

 

be a real shame if JAE gets forgotten over the next few years and i think the other meeting should have been thought about better and moved to another month?? august??

Just so that some of you who are not aware of what goes on can be informed of the effort that goes in to organising these events.

 

the Z Club have been going to Billing for donkeys years. It was the Z Club that initiated what you now know to be JAE. When JAE left for Peterborough the Z Club continued to go to Billing as it had become a traditional thing, as well as attending the JAE. It appears that the majority of our members prefer the 'peace' of Billing to the hum drum atmosphere of JAE and Billing receives a far more favourable turn out as a result.

 

Unfortunately when we booked Billing for this year for our 30th Birthday Party, due to admin problems at Billing this was the only weekend available to us so we took it. A few weeks after this booking the dates for JAE were announced. There was nothing we could do to alter things. We had already invited all other Z related clubs to attend our birthday party. Your committee decided that it would also be your main event, not us.

 

I should also mention that some unscrupulous shits (not members of any z club) took advantage of our date at Billing to attempt to run an alternative JAE under the Z Club Banner. Along with the admin staff at Billing we have tried to stop this but Billing have relented and some clubs will still be attending.

 

I hope you all have a great time with us at Billing. I also hope that you will attend JAE too as I know that a great deal of work goes into organising that event. It isn't easy trying to satisfy everyone. If you have any compalints about Billing then you must sort it out with your committee.

 

Similarly if you have anything constructive to say that makes JAE a more enjoyable event then I do know that the organisers want to hear it. They strive very hard to make an enjoyable weekend for everyone. It is no good muttering amongst yourselves but not making your feelings known to the organisers.

I am at a loss as to what to do now. I can see that the Zclub event would be more 'my thing' than JAE as JAE sounds like it appeals to the kruuzeers and MaxyP types than the more traditionalist Zclub at Billing.
