:confused: Im crap at electronics

 

Right, my amp and subs arnt working, spoke to madhamster at the weekend and he told me to get a volt meter and test the 2 wires that are loose to see which one has the power. simple.

 

Ive got a volt meter, but what settings do i set it to? Ive got DC V, AC V, DC mA or ohms,

 

also where do i put the red and black leads?

dc v black lead on a chassis point eg a bolt and the red on a cable you are testing

You want DC Volts, put the black test lead down to earth on a bolt/hinge etc and the red one to the wire your testing.

You need to set it to DC V.

 

Then the black lead goes to the body work as an earth and the red goes to the wire you are testing. You will get a voltage signal if it is live.
