It's actually more expensive to tax my 2004 Mini Cooper S than to tax my zed. Car pre 31 March 01 appear to dip in under the rules.

If you are pre March 01 you stay on the old two band tax. If it's newer, it will depend on your omissions. Wife's X trail falls short of the top band. It's top band vehicles bought after 22 March this year that will really dip out.
