i would say that was the best result in terms of the crash, he's low sided it a relatively low speed, and if you look closely he's just missed a lamp post just as he goes off the road.

I quick beep on the horn will have prevented that on the bikers part, but equally the driver probably didnt know that he had a bike behind him and didnt check his n/s mirror.

Joys of being a biker............................................................ you ride like everyones out to kill you, and you generally stay alive!

The more I watch that, the more I'm convinced the driver of the red car did that on purpose.. Why cross into the opposite lane?? ..What was he overtaking?.. There was nothing in front of him for sixty foot or so

!!WOW!! that sign/lamp post would have hurt.. !!NEAR MISS!! :wack:

Makes you wonder if something was on the road ie a rabbit or something we cann't see.

Bet the biker was lost from view for that fraction of a second when they appear to disappear behind the A pillar on certain cars.

I know my mate hate's it when she see's a motorbike come up behind her skyline as she says there are so many blind spots and is often sh!ting herself till they are gone past her. She even slow's down in the hope they'll past her, and get out of her way.

I nearly went into a another car the other day due to trying to keep an eye on what a biker was doing one second he was clearly visable behind the Zed next I check he's vanished so I take extra long look and find him beside me and the car in front has come to a halt. Result lound squeel of Zed brakes and me swearing. Biker travelling down the inside of my Zed :headvswal :headvswal

 thats what i thought. the car seemed to be too far away from the one infront. we'll never know i guess....

He was overtaking a silver car infront of him. You could see from the driver of the red cars manners he was wanting to overtake first chance he got, biker should have seen this and hung back untill he knew it was ok to go. Bet the biker also didn't indicate or let the guy infront know what he was about to do.

Seen plenty of drivers do it, they keeping looking at you in their rear view mirror waiting for you to pull out to overtake then they pull across as well for no good reason, sometimes right across, other times just a little to try to scare you, many car drivers, usually male about 50 years old that just see you as a noisey pest.

Thats exactly what i thought.....had this happen before to me but normally when they go to overtake the car in front and they haven't seen me.. but don't think this was the case here... he deserves a :mac1:

Even though he was overtaking the car in front he should have still checked his mirror

I could quite easily go into one here. But I wont. I will however say. Sometimes when I am going through traffic the odd car see's me in the mirror and you can tell they move over to close the gap on you. I have been known to stick the boot in which makes them more annoyed than me. W4NKER5 :xxx:

Yep I completely agree with you there it looked deliberate to me. If he's hit that post it would have been curtains. Have also to say being a biker myself that he was way too close the the arse of that car and I was expecting the car to hit something and the bike to flip over the top when the vid first started.

If you have so much more power to weight you don't need to be in someones boot to overtake. That is spot on on a track, but only because most of the other machines are of similar power and people are expecting the guy behind to make a move.

Are you lot blind and not able to see the silver car the red car is overtaking?????

Look at the shaddows to the left, first watch the shaddow of the red car and you can see he is overtaking the shaddow infront of him. then watch it again and look at the right and for a moment you see the silver car he is overtaking.

Your right I didn't see that car. Both bike and red car far too close, but the red still should check before he pulled out.

yup deffo overtaking a silver car, there is someone who runs past the bike once it stopped and it seemed to quick to be a driver of one of the cars

Here we go its the bikes fault again. The red car didnt indicate until the bike was almost along side him.

The only thing I agree with you on is that if he had been any kind of decent biker he would have antisipated any move of any other vehicles and probably would have seen it coming. He didnt but car drivers just havent got the ability to antisipate fook all. Do you honestly believe the car driver didnt know the bike was trying to pass?

Sorry. all IMO. :x:

looks like he got up though (21secs). careless over taking by the car, and probably bad road position by the bike too, by the time the car goes to over take the bike would unlikely be in either the rear view mirror or the side window as he was hidden by the rear pillar.

theres only ever gonna be one winner in a situation like that and its not gonna be a bike

If you watch it again you will see tha the car driver does indicate - at the same time as pulling out. You don't indicate when you are avoiding a rabbit!

My guess is that he wanted a race and got it all wrong. As a bike rider myself, as far as I am concerned you treat all car drivers as idiots. That way you stay on the road. I reckon if the video had stayed on for a bit longer, we may have seen a car driver getting a good kicking!

well thats just shite, ive had many bike riders behind me and when i look in the passenger mirror they are there, then when i look in the drivers side mirror they are there, then they decide to overtake from the passenger side, if you's drove in one place then maybe we could keep an eye out for you's overtaking, why the fook do you's weave all over the road

i for one will move over for a biker to pass and i usually get a wave from them, i also flash my hazards if im in front of a rider and i pass a puddle or see kids playing near the road or see someone edging out of a junction

you's are not the greatest drivers on the road so why not have a bit of consideration for car drivers aswell as bike riders and stay in one place on the road

Take it you don't like bikers cause were all shite! Nice rant.

nope i like bikers, i would like to become a rider myself, i respect riders and help out on the road when i can, its just you seem to call all drivers idiots when we are not, there are a lot of riders out there that should be a little more cautious

its not always the car drivers fault

The word "treat" them as idiots is a giveaway - and that is exactly what you have to do. Of course they are not all idiots - I drive a car myself! If the guy (or girl) treated the driver like an idiot he may not have ended up in the hedge.............then again, maybe he still would have.

i can see where you are coming from, maybe i jumped the gun a little, but i think this thread is directed towards drivers of cars being the main cause of bike accidents but im sure a lot of riders are at fault aswell

anyway im on the lash and aint up toarguing tonite lol

have a goodun

It should be the LAW. Everyone who wants to drive a car should be made to take the CBT. OK there are exceptions like disabled people but as a general rule if it were to be like that everyone would have some idea what its like for a biker. Yes we do weave in and out but then I say car drivers have the benefit of the warmth and a radio as well as an ashtray. So car drivers that winge about bikers should all have a spell on 2 wheels and see just how in hostpitable the road are for bikes. NO i aint having a bash at stella he's my mate. But anyone who thinks its an easy life.............. :D

Mind you it aint all bad. You get a lot of thrills on a bike and thats worth every cold morning and near miss IMO.

LOL

If bikers drove their bikes as per the rules of the roads 99% of your bikers crashes would never happen, fact.
