Wonder if the saddo's that payed 800 quid for an imported one feel a little silly now you can get em for £425 LOL

no console can ever compaire to a pc, ever

have to disagree with you there buddy. compair a quad core qx6700 with dual 8800gtx's in SLI to a xbox360. the 360 is based on modified X86 architecture. not sure what hardware is in the PS3 but give it 2 months after the PS3 release date and a custom built pc will kick it's ass.

the only thing a console has is a cheaper price tag. imho of course

you cant belive how much game try pushing you to buy a PS3 you cant go in the shop without them saying "you want PS3". i dont get why it isn't selling that well but sony are cutting the price in japan soon as sales aren't that good

PC's are great as all rounders and high end gaming (the sky's the limit if you have the cash) but half the point of a console is cheap 'plug and go' gaming. No installations, no driver / display setups, no OS crashes from microshaft etc. For the price of one 8800gtx, you could get a 360 and a couple of games.

PC's are still far better for online gaming and MMORPG's though, and are FAR better for graphics if you can afford it.

At the end of the day, PC's do their thing and Consoles do their thing.

About the ps3 thing, all the game shops round here have posters in the window saying how many ps3's they've got left. Compare that to the Wii, you still can't get them in many shops. Just goes to show that graphics / power ain't everything.

Yeah cheeper by about £1500 going by the kit you've been listing ;)

i find that a very decent spec PC will have better graphics, but a console will always have the smoothness. i'd always play mouse-based games on the PC, and driving/fighting/sport games on the console. eg. GT4 on the PS2 is far better than TOCA 3 on the PC and I have a pretty good spec (3.4gb, 2 gig RAM, 512mg ATI X850XT card, etc.)

Exactly! I think you completely missed my point! LOL

That's a couple of grands worth of system and it aint THAT much better than running my Xbox 360!

Especially when you can just slap a disk in and switch it on and play on a 48" TV through a top notch Dolby surround system which I already had so cost nothing :D

I used to spend so much time pissing about with settings and drivers, tweaking stuff, setting up controls etc etc I hardly played the game.

Have a look at Gears of War etc on my system and tell me you're glad you paid £2K extra LOL

Oh and I have a Dell XPS laptop with dual core processors, 2GB RAM and 512MB graphics for when I'm out and about :D

It's got LED's on it too!

Everyone knows PC's are for porn and music.........not for playing silly computer games!

just for eve online alone a pc will always rule

consoles are good for instant gaming and if you have a spare hour

sorry i thought we were just on a peformance thing, but i agree with the price point

I hate to admit it because I have always said the PC is best. But Chris is right the XBox 360 is the mutts. I dont know how much (if at all) the PS3 is going to be but Sony reckon this Blue ray thing is the next stage???? We have to see. For now the 360 is the better bet. IMO.

microsoft had boats going up the river where the PS3 was being released with "xbox 360 (heats) you"

sorry it's only in french

someone on the gtr club got it bang on when everyone saying the ps3 is mega expensive compaired to the xbox 360, with the ps3 you get HDMI you get blu ray dvd, you get wireless built in and its much more powerful ;)

when you add up the subscription for online gaming for microsoft it makes the 360 about the same price as the ps3 ;)

i have both and i have to say "at the moment" with sony being out of the market for such a long time, microsoft have done a good job of getting all the best titles so sony have alot of catch up to do but i will say this the ps3 is superior to the 360 and if they get the games to fulfil its potencial then its certainly the ones to have!!
