well finally the time came for me to ditch the air con,

i have'nt used it much at all & its been without gas for the past 2 years anyway so will probably be knackerd :mac1:

its amaizing the aircon rad covers the whole of the coolant rad, how on earth was i meant to keep the engine cool with this in the way??

much better now though loads of room , also the aircon compressor has gone along with the associated pipe work,

hopefully get the ash spec rad in there 2 keep things ice cool ;)

Hi FASTREDZ did anyone ever find out about the Ash-spec rad as i still have to sort out my membership sometime this week but i can't find the old thread about them. Cheers.

nice one bud, i removed mine ages ago, its amazing how much the coolant rad is hidden from air flow by the air con rad, and only takes about half hour to remove, simple little mod

just dont cut the wrong pipes lol

stellaz yeah its a great mod, bloody pipes were a nightmare to open though the aluminium had bound together :headvswal

the airflow to the rad now is 100% better

Its going to be even hotter this summer i cant see the point in doing this whats the point ,loose a bit of weight and maybe 3-4 hp gain .

It's in the "Trade" section -> "Group Buy" section. We are still waiting to hear back from Ash if its going ahead.

more reason to do it then, get more cooler air flowing to your cooling rad

My aircon rad fell to pieces as i was removing it, no wonder it never worked lol. So no I have more air to be fed to my koyo rad :)

Goodwork that man!! It's amazing how much weight is in the compressor alone and yeah even a standard rad is gonna benifit so much of the extra cooling provided!

is it hard to remove?

any guides?

damn i should have taken some pics :mac1:

aircon rad very easy to remove, remove main rad to get to it, undo 2 fittings & lift it out!!

dont forget to degass the system will you its poisnous stuff :x: :x:

the compressor is a bit more work, i removed the fan to get a better access the most difficult part is the bolt on the rear of the compressor had me in tears nearly :o

do a search there are plenty of write ups i have read before i did this bud
