Anyone used Japarts in NW9?

Featured Replies

Havent used them, but I would love to hear how it goes for you. I just filled in their form to ask for a price quote on a cam belt change. I will let you know how long it takes for them to respond. From comments I have read on here it seems like a slow response in quoting is a sign of much worse service to come.

Yes Trey, I got a rear gearbox mount from them a couple of months back.

They were quick and good price - just a real bugger to get to.

For full story, see the propshaft vibes link on my website.

John from Japarts got back to me this morning. I was suprised by the quick reply and firm quote. Unfortunately he said that the 300ZX is difficult to work on so he wanted 380 pounds to change the cambelt.

380 pounds to change the cambelt.

hmm...looks like there good for parts if your in London, but £380 to change a cam-belt! I'll pass on that. Quick response though.

Trey,

What were you thinking about having them do?

Do you know any other mechanics in London?

Same as you mate - cambelt change and other bits and bobs

Almost all the London Soarers are serviced there, we get a 10% discount (real) and John Haigh (Service Manager is an honest bloke) the guy in the Japparts is Jim Radisic and he too is a decent fella, I get all my parts that I can 'buy ahead' from them and they deliver next day.

Jem are Soarer trained and Toyota specific so I don't know about other makes, but as most of the staff are Japanese and actually go and read the diagnostics they seem to be the place for good work.

Unfortunately thats what you have to pay in London, for a cambelt change at a reputable garage.

Here are the closest specialists that I have found

Milton Service Station, St Ives, Cambs has done cambelts for as little as £160 + parts. Every report I have seen praised the service. phone 014808 311144

Darren in Rochester Kent, reported to be the man. Has less time with a new job and some health problems. Would love to have him work on my Z, but cant get a response. No idea on prices, he is a member. (I just received email from him as I was posting this)

SE Nissan, some people love them, some people never get their

cars back. Price reported to be £250 for a cam belt change.

JeffTT in Birmingham has great prices and all I have ever heard about his work has been praise. I may go there when he is back from Holiday. http://www.zedworld.co.uk

Jez has previously claimed to know mechanics near Heathrow and Gillingham, but I cant find any more info on these two.

Vijay has a neighbor who has 15 years Nissan experience in NW london

Does anyone know of others?

It would be great to have a complete list.
