First of all, hi everyone. :D

 

My zed is a 1991 jap manual.

 

I've only very recently started to have trouble with the gearbox. At high revs (4000 and over) it just wont shift up into 3rd or 4th, i have to wait a second or 2 for the revs to drop. There doesn't seem to be any problem shifting up into 2nd or 5th, or with any downshifts.

The clutch feels fine and is acting normally.

 

Any ideas what may be causing this?

These boxes are known for problems with the synchro's on the higher gears.

Is it crunching or just not engaging?

Don't think it will be the clutch if it's fine in other gears so probably the box is on its way out :(

what is the mileage of the car and have you checked the gearbox oil, if its got no oil in the chances are its stuffed :(

No probems finding reverse. Ihavent checked the gearbox oil recently, i'll have that checked asap. Had the oil replaced just over a year ago.
