im doing mine at the moment, over the last 10 years, theyve charged me 7.5k inc interest. robbing fcukers

i sent a letter to hsbc and never heard a thing

send them another letter, stating that you expect a reply in 40 days, and if they dont reply that you will take them to court, worked for me

My son works in a bank he told me some of the other banks are refunding money to customers who complain and are then informing them their accounts are being closed :mad: nasty bit of petty retaliation

Yep, that's the one. I never asked for an upgrade. I set up the account when I was a student and that's the way I've left it (over 10 years.) THEY decided to change it and charge me for the privilege. Cheeky robbing fookers. I hope you all get your money back. I rang them up instead of writing purely because I wanted something doing about it straight away. If you ring them with an official complaint then you're in the system - just a thought.
