I noticed that my Zed was overboosting on the way up to the Pod yesterday.

In 5th gear I was getting max boost readings of 19psi!!!

I have a greddy profec b spec 2 and until yesterday this would not boost over about 17psi. I have not changed these settings since it was installed.

I am going to check for any loose tubing as I know this could cause it.

Is it possible that my wastegate is stuck in a shut position?

What else could cause this?

Thanks, Mike...

P.S. I think this is why I got some quite impressive 1/4 mile times! LOL

possibly over boosting because its pretty cold? you can usually get 2 or 3 psi if its chilly LOL

i managed 17 before the pro spec 2 cut the boost when it was snowing! a bit too much over the 15 set limit

I understand the logic but it was boosting to 19psi in the afternoon and it was really quite warm.

Also, I think that the boost controller used to cut the boost at a certain level and now it just keeps on increasing.

Even when I turn the controller off completely it will boost to around 15psi, when it should basically be in safety boost with the controller off.

I haven't managed to check the hoses yet but could this be a wastegate issue?

Thanks...

More likely to be something to do with the setup of the boost controller.

I have not changed the settings.

Unless they reset themselves when the battery was out recently?

are you getting the pressure reading from the Profec or a different gauge?
I am getting these readings from the Profec.

I think it was setup to cut the boost before it hit 19psi :headvswal

 me confused!

If it's switched off it should only run 7psi safety boost
Exactly!

Why is it boosting to around 15psi when the Profec is off?

What is wrong?

So am I right in saying these systems don't actually read the pressure and correct it through a feedback system?

Or is there some sort of set up issue because if you set a certain pressure, surely you would expect just that???

That is exactly what it SHOULD be doing!

I have just gone out and had a look under the bonnet. There are no obvious tubes disconnected. I also just tried using another member's settings on my controller and took it for a spin, I am still hitting over 18psi in 2nd!

WTF is going on?

I had this with my e01 it was boosting as far as youd let it, the conroller would alarm but not back off.

Did the same with the controller turned off, check your tubing, one of the pipes will have popped off.

Dunno which one it was on mine as my mate found the prob, but im willing to bet yours is the same problem.

ive not used a Greddy before, but dont you need to put it how much you want it to back down by once you hit your warning level? The Blitz DSBC-R has a setting where you can drop boost by 'x' amount once you hit the warning, and then scramble boost which is how much it kicks back up again after being dropped.

This is definitely the best explaination so far.

I have had a quick look at the tubing but I had better go and do a full inspection.

Will keep you all posted.

Thanks, Mike...
