its gotta be a fuse mate

go through all the ones in the engine bay and in the footwell, and the ones in the small fuse box in the engine bay. I also would like to know which fuse is for the dash lights as i run a lot from that circuit

hia bud, where is thre small fuse box in the engine bay, is it by the brake slave cylinder

i have checked all the fuses in the main box & in the footwell, trying to get a wiring diagram to find the fault!!

flipping eck no sooner said than done ollie nice one right then where to start bud

here is my plan!!

can i put a live wire in to the illumination switch just to prove the circuit is ok??

which one is the live though not the best at reading wiring diagrams LOL!!

ollie i told you i mwould mess up sooner or later LOL!!

On the back of the right hand pod unplug the middle plug, turn the lights on, wire a live into pin 22 or 23 (i forget which). (Use your multimeter to test earth continuity to find which.)

This should provide 12v to all other illuminations.

P.S I wish someone would help me with my fog-light diagram issue! :smw:

P.S. i have developed a special technique when I do ignition barrel rings, as it is VERY tricky. As we have found out. :(

Why are the barrel rings considered tricky bud? .. Mine just slid off the barrel, it wasn't retained in any way

ok giles, right then live to pin 22 kicks some realay under the dash in but no light, pin 23 that blows the fuse straight away !!

No not tricky to remove, but to convert. FASTREDZ did his own conversion, not one of mine. ;)

Are you sure they were the right pins 22 and 23? The diagram above is for a LHD zed, also remember the pins are on the connector not the pod so the other way round.. Double check you have the rght pins.

yep tried the pins fella no hope, so then i though its an earth fault!! so with the light switched on i earthed the negative side led on the illumination cluster switch then all the light worked!!

has to be an earth fault then im sure, so where do i go from here??

gyles your a great help bud!!

p.s back later

Sounds like you melted your earth wire then.

Solution is to hardwire what you just tested, a new earth wire to somewhere on the chassis.

hey there

just got back home now, yep i will have to try to trace the melted earth wire i will let you know how it goes, once again thanks bud

  • 3 months later...
