Clarkson has said Top Gear will not be returning, although the BBC are saying it will? Have to wait and see.

Featured Replies

Clarkson probably wants more money and BBC have told him no, he's threatened to not return, they say it'll be staying....so maybe another offer has been made to him....just my thoughts. I'm probably wrong. He makes so much money from TG anyway, he's unlikely to pull out.

yeah maybe, as nuch as i like JC i do feel he thinks he is the star of the show and the other 2 have to play second fiddle to him, to be fair its all 3 that make the show i think

found this on telegraph.co.uk

"The BBC dismissed claims yesterday that the future of its popular motoring programme Top Gear was in doubt.

The corporation was forced to issue a statement after the presenter Jeremy Clarkson said the programme, which regularly draws an audience of more than seven million, would not be returning this summer.

In his weekly newspaper column, the 47-year-old broadcaster said that contrary to what the continuity announcer said at the end of the last series, the show would not be back this summer. "Can I just say, here and now, it won't be," he added.

However, the BBC said that a special edition of the show would be broadcast this summer and there would be a new series in the autumn. It refused to discuss Clarkson's future, although it said that it hoped all three presenters would remain.

A BBC spokesman said: "We're expecting all three boys to present the programmes.""

Nah, Its a publicity stunt IMO. The show is far to popular, and you can tell that Jezza/May/Hamster love it. :o :D

just been doing a search on this, and it seems that jezza hamster and cpt slow or hacked off with the producers because there pushing for more celebs on the show and not concentrating on the cars, hence the increase in "top gear" adventures in the last series

Show seems to be losing its originality in my opinion, they seem to repeat ideas under the disguise of a different theme. There isn't really enough about the cars anymore.

agreed i dont even watch it anymore its all boys own type stuff, its lost touch with what it was first created for.

Personally i think numbers will drop anyway if they carry on how they are doing, its like an upmarket braniac now with a few supercars in

imho

upmarket brainiac... cool!

i must be a big kid ;)

i think the fooling about, although 90% staged, does contribute to the program. we've all got used to the format of: boring car -> news -> fooling about (intro) -> fast car -> reasonably priced car-> fooling about (middle bit) -> fast car on track with Stig -> feature -> fooling about (conclusion) -> "and on that bombshell..."

...but it just works so well

I Think Its Prolly Down To Health & Safety Afters Hampsters Crash.....................................................................

There Was A Lot Of Internal Complaints B4 That Incident & Im Sure That I Has Something To Do With It.

Mo Thats All

If it was more about the cars it would just be 5th gear. There's loads of programs about cars but which is the most popular?
