NZR: Accesing Email Server with Telnet

HELP!

I'm trying to access one of my email servers using Telnet on the Mac, it goes in okay but then gives me an error on password.

Am I doing something fundamentally wrong?

Heres the details (I've obviously deleted the password:

+OK

user pop3 tj930101

+OK

pass pop3 pgc***

-ERR authorization failed

Any help appreciated

Tim

Are you trying to login on a telnet or an smtp port ? If you're after talking to it on the smtp port then you'll have to specify port 25 e.g. $ telnet 1.1.1.1,25 (or similar - don't know Macs well)

pop3 is port 110. Also I think the problem might be that ur typing pop3 in each command, dont.

I know the problem, your using a MAC !!!!
