SE-Turbos

My car is going to SE Nissan for an engine rebuild and I am thinking of upgrading the turbos at the same time. Has anyone got SE turbos fitted, if so would you go for stage 1 or stage 2 and how reliable are they.

I've got hybrid turbos from SE. Half 200SX and half skyline. They're gggreat. basically SE get turbos reconned at turbo technics. Hybrids are SE's own design.

Bigger turbos will spool up a bit more slowly and may shift the power kick in higher up the rev range. But if you decat as well it isn't a problem. bigger turbo also means noisier exhaust. There's aleways a trade off - talk to pete R about it.

Wads mine are still going strong after 2 years wink.gif

Thanks did either of you have any other engine mods, i'm also thinking of getting forged pistons since I think my local Nissan dealer may have experienced detonation ( I checked the boost gage after the service and it registered 18.5psi and it never ran right after, surprise surprise)I am also possibly going to fit different cams. I am not sure if the cams make that much of a difference

though? Mac which stage turbos did you have fitted at SE.

Cams make a big difference if set up correctly, can make it much worse if not, you could compromise a bit of low end smoothness for the high end power though.

They let more in esp off boost and get the gasses out quicker, very important. smile.gif
