One of AY3388 friends has some work done there on his Lancia Evo engine. After it was running like a bag of shit.

He then found out that the Cams he wanted and was charged for, where not put on. After denying that they had not installed them, they appeared in a desk draw.

Other than that I dont know.

Hey there,

I dont want to cause any upset, and that could well have been a isolated incident. The story above wasnt 100% btu on the right lines. I HAVE heard many good things said about their work on japanese cars and that does seem to be more of their specialty, but what happened was a couple of years ago, and things may have changed, just go and speak to the people there, if they seem amiable enough then go ahead and use them, the chief technician at 'the time' has now set up RC developments (Clive Seddon) and I have seen their work (only on japanese cars) mainly their demo Mistubishi EVO, on track at Oulton park, and that is a well sorted car!

Although you may not have found this helpful..i did want to dispell any total disregard for the companies in question, as any company can not have 100% satisfaction record, but what happened was a big and costly error, shit happens and they probably learned from their mistakes.

Hope others can help with reccomendations.

No probs with DP motorsport at all. I've been using them for the last three years without fault.

Be warned they're mega busy at the mo!

They reckon it'll cost £360+vat just for the labour (to fit a new clutch) as they reckon it'll take about a day. That seems a bit more expensive than I had thought. How many hours labour do you reckon is required?

Thanks,

-Stu

I think I remember someone mentioning that it took a Nissan main dealer 5 hours to do at a cost of £180, 8 hours does seem a little excessive, but I could be wrong.

I am having mine done in a week or so, will tell you then if yours is still not sorted.

Cheers

Most places charge around £150 - £200. SE quoted me £155 to fit a clutch, but that was about 2 years ago. £360 + vat is out of the question.

Get a fixed price, not an hourly rate.

If you're in the North West then I'd try Reynolds Nissan in Southport. They fitted my ACT clutch for £150

Thanx guys,

I'm in the midlands but don't mind travelling to get it sorted properly. I guess I'll phone round some more places...

martinfa, if you could let me know how much/long it took that would be daddy cool smile.gif

See ya

If you are wanting a standard one fitted then try Coop Nissan in Burton on Trent 01283-527777. I use them and they are good. They also work on some pulsars and so far none of us have a complaint about workmanship. Speak To Martin Hines, Service Manager.
