possible ptu prob?????

 

car runs like shite when cold, it misses whilst on tickover and doesnt accelerate very well, and when releasing off the throttle it seems to miss and doesnt come down smoothly

 

when warm, the car usualy ticks over high, sometimes 2000rpm, and doesnt accelerate very well (seems like it doesnt want to go and im forcing the engine to(if ya know what i mean), and sometimes misses like hell when hamering it

 

have just put a replacement maf on (new one possible faulty???????)

 

any ideas guys

 

oh and i only got 35 miles to £20 of petrol :(

also when crusing the engine note doesnt sou nd steady, it makes a noise like a noisy wheel bearing whirring (no its not just the wheel bearing lol)

Hmmm possibly try the CAS and check the timing as well as swapping the ptu. My ptu went but when it failed the car wouldn't start at all.

has been taking a few more turns to start it, the exhaust's are kicking out black soot (overfueling?????)

Could be an injector being lazy i.e. too much fuel is going in on tick-over. Mine did that.

hi mate my z has had similar probs it was stood for 18 months adid start it now and then, i dicided to mot and put it on road when i went to start it 3 days ago it started but took 3 - 4 attempts and was realy rough smoking and popping from exhust when i drove it it was like i was forcing it it wouldt pick speed up or go over 35 - 40 mph and was realy rough even on idle it was rough and wouldnt idle well 350-400 rpm and kept stalling so i left it y-day it wouldnt start at all just ticking over, after cleaning all plugs and coils and checking ptu plug cas plug and cleaning all iv had no luck just slight fire uop but instantly drops again also pops a bit. im suspecting ptu if you solve ur prob let me know and if i do first ill let u know good luck cheers
