lol, no i'm sure as micky told me the back end of the car was permanently steering left hence i went through a set of rear tyres in 8 weeks

Just seeing if i can locate what's faulty and try cleaning it up before i take the car in on thursday/friday

I've tried about 4 times now and i'll be buggered if i know what's going on.

Nothing happens

Maybe the diag worked fine and proved your Hicas is fooked! :x:

Well you see i thought about this, if it relies on the steering wheel sensor to work out how far you're turning it to activate the test diag then if the steering wheel sensor is fooked then how would it ever start?

I think it's the steering wheel sensor :(

HICAS does work off the steering wheel sensor. If this is (a) fooked or (b) permanently out of alignment (ie your steeringwheel is at an angle despite the front wheels pointing straight ahead) then HICAS disables itself. Couple that to dodgy HICAS arms or faulty rear steering rack and I can see how you've gone through a set of rear tyres so quickly.
