the box is rated to 204mph so it's not the box limiting the speed matey

tumbleweed.jpg never mind then  ;)

does it pull strongly up to 125mph then hit a "wall" or does it struggle to get to that speed?

Rev limiter??? :headvswal

Auto box??? :headvswal

Do any of you know about these cars?

Are you sure it's not a Jap spec with the standard speed limiter at 112mph?

Is the car running in safety boost? What's the maximum boost you can hit on the gauge?

pulls strong to 125 then just sits at that with the foot down

Don't you just need to cut wire 29 (purple) at the EECU to disable the electronic limiter ? (best check with the experts before you go cutting wires though ... :D )

No no no no no! :mac1:

Jeeez you can tell it's monday morning

It's the electronic limiter, no idea why it has the same problem as mine but mine cuts out at 125ish (my speedo is well off) and you have your foot to the floor and it won't go any further.

I just need a delimiter fitted.

Absolutely nothing to do with the gearbox at all, it's independant of the speed limiter

Yep, you could do that but it would affect all the speed sensitve stuff on the car, so pretty much a bad plan. Getting a speed delimiter installed, or better still a remapped ECU chip would probably solve the problem.

Hmmm, so do you both think you're doing 125mph when in reality you're only doing 112mph? :x:

Mine reads 140mph when its actually doing 120mph :D

My speedo is well off, should get round to calibrating it lol

The speed limiter comes in at 121 on mine and that GPS proven i want rid of it asap too! :( surely there must be an easy way to remove it? on my jap import mx5 it was a screw you just removed on the back of the speedo.

Surely you can fit a resistor somewhere just like you do to the speedo to make it read in MPH??

If you fit a speedo converter it will do it but as andyp said it will spaz up the speed sensitive stuff, eg when your doing 80mph your ecu will think your doing 80kmph and thus the steering etc will behave accordingly.

Performance chip is the best way to do it IMO.

cos mines red it reads 100mph when im actually doing 900mph, top speed of red zeds is known to be well over 1000mph, autos have also been known to hit 1500mph with an extra psi or two!!

And the answer is,

"IT AINT RED"

Actually it is

i have a delimited auto and hit just over the 180 mark(MPH) on a private test track;) on saturday evening, had almost a full thousand revs to go as well.. got tunnel vision tho and had to back off lol felt so smooth tho...

so i would definitely say it is the electronic limiter, ;)

Fook the speedo. Its just another bit of bling with the indiglo clocks. I use my sat nav for the speed.

the Japanese Imports have a speed limit and thats why its happening - fitting UK clocks can remove this and put it to 155mph
