Thats not my hand and it never will be.

I thionk the rule of thumb with insects is, the more brightly coloured they are the less dangerous they are, but don't quote me on that.

I saw some pretty spiders while in Aus and a couple of snakes too wich is unusual as snakes tend to steer clear of us humans, and as we are thinking of going back we are doing a bit more surfing on another forum and thats where that came from.

I'll try and get some more.

Scary!

So, the other night, I'm lying on my front, in bed, cos that's how I sleep... And I feel this thing patter across my back in a spider like way. It was heavy enough for me to feel it.

We'd had a bad night anyway, with the 4 yr old up and down in the night (it wasn't him, he was in bed by this point) so I say to hub....

'There's something crawling across my back...'

He of course sighs, switches on the light, tries to find the spider which by this point has pissed off the side of the bed and has hidden somewhere.

I'm pretty sure it's Tristan, the larger of the Huntsman spiders and we have a good look for him, to no avail. He's probably terrified and has hidden by this point anyway. Must look like King Kong's after him with us two clumping around.

Anyway, after checking the bed, I lie awake for a further hour, not able to sleep due to the adrenaline coursing through my system.

When i awake in the morning I find that hubby has become disdainful of my drama in the night and believes it is purely in my head.

Last night, or rather 3am, Tristan decides to pay hubby a little visit and actually walks over his face.

Hubby is instantly awake - instinct I guess... and stays stock still until Tristan is off his face. Hub puts the light on and sees Tristan is actually hiding inside the pillow case. Hubby shakes poor Tristan out of the case but then can't find him. I guess if I was Tristan I'd be making myself as small as possible.

Hubby lies there awake for a couple of hours and eventually falls off to sleep, apologises to me in the morning for not believing me.
