hello people,

First a bit of history, ive had a zed for a year and after 6months the rad burst, engine over heated and this caused the head gaskets to die, as i spent all my money on the car i couldntnt afford to get in fixed right away, its a uk spec twin turbo manual, 1992,

It finally went to be fixed last week and ive just got it back, how ever, now its back i now have a couple of new problems and due to the mechanic taking on more than he thought he doesnt want to know now ive got it back,

first problem,

E,G,R? With the enging running i can see a hose missing at the back of the engine in the center about half way down, where it should be connected i can see and hear a box sucking in air, this is one end of where the hose should be but where does the other end go? also the standard in car boost gage which was working before it went to him is now not, please bear in mind im no mechanic but trying!

second problem,

The turbo is now dropping oil, i realise this could be from a few places, is it a case of get the car up and just look around?

Finally, i have just brought 2 HKS sequential dump valves with fitting kits, do these get fitted where the standard ones are between the headlights and filters or do they need to be fitted somewhere else?

Any help with any of these problems will be very helpful,

sounds like your mechanic has got a couple of hoses confused OS rear of plenum, it could be he has connected your boost gauge hose somewhere else easy fix although easier when you know where they are.

if the hose has come off the egr unit itself it can be a pain to reach down the back to reconect it, but it is there and curable! best bit of advice is to get yourself to one of the nereast traders to yourself, have a look in the traders section, it should only take someone who knows where they all go 5min to check and reconnect.

as for oil leak, if the heads have been removed then i expect one of the oil feeds is leaking from NS or OS turbo but again can be diagnosed from underside of car on a ramp or axle stands, it could even be the oil return which is a simple fix.
