Is it possible to trace an address from a phone number :confused: I know it can be done the other way round

been having nuisance phone calls for last couple of weeks always between 3am an 430am

the usually shit male voice trying to be scary, wife answered last time an got " your gonna die bitch" not what a 8 month pregnat woman wants to here at 3 in the morning :rant:

but this time the prick forgot to with hold the number :hyper: so wanting the address :rant:

Get the police and the phone company involved bud. If you have the number they can do something about it. Even if he denies it, his phone records will show that he has been calling your number at stupid hours.

was there not a disk out a while back called the UK info disk or something that caused a stir because you could do a reverse search and find someones address?

Trouble with telling the cops is they wont tell you who it was so you will always be left wondering. See if you can find a BT engineer who might find it out for you for a few quid.

I always thought that directory enquiries could tell you an address if you had a phone number?

Best way to deal with this is report it to the police, I had a similar problem during last year, reported it, and it was stopped by use of a harrassment order.

I (well at work) used to be a member of the Credit Protection Association; their website had a tracing function. You could enter a name, address or even just a phone number and it would fill in the rest of the details for you.

 

Sadly I never bothered to renew the sub but if anyone else has access to their members' area they could trace it for you.

It is an offence under the Telecommuications Act to send threatening or offense message's. Inform both the police and the service provider giving them the number as you were able to obtain it.

 

 

You can also with BT do what I did, they will give you 1 month free of charge a system were if the person calls you you can then type in a number which will block that number from calling you again. BT allow you to do it to about 10 or more different numbers. So that if the offender tries it from another phone you block that one as well.

 

What usually happens is the offender gets fed up of being blocked and then gives up.

 

I had the same problem when I first moved, to Surrey the guy was even watching the house as he was able to say things to me like I've just seen your husband drive off and then give a description of the car he was then driving.

 

My offender only ever used telephone box numbers, so was never caught but he gave up once he realized he was running out of telephone box's to call me from as I was blocking each one as he tried a new one.

 

 

 

Also don't let the police or service provinder just throw up their hands, as it is an offence and the offender if caught can end up in court and be fined.
