I've brought my PC down to Wales and have a new BT line. Every few minutes I get a pop up saying "You have just ignored an incoming call".

 

I've spoken to BT and they tell me that I don't have call waiting and don't have 1571.

 

I'm running XP.

 

Any ideas ?

Are you using a smartlink modem and Freeserve?

 

If you are then try to get the latest drivers at http://www.smlink.com/download/HAMR5600/Drivers/SLA56-V3.00.00-MV-WIN2K-XP.zip

If you cannot get online long emough to get this file do this:

go to Control Panel / Modem Settings / Modem Helper,

and enable "Safe Mode 2" until you have it. You will only connect at 33K/s

in this mode, but it will stay connected. Remember to switch the

safe mode 2 off once you have the download installed (though it will

probably clear by itself as part of the update).
