The quiestion now is why does this happen.

It hasen't happened before and the ignition was fully on. (Car had cut out on idle as it hasn't been run for a week or so and is just off for service)

Typically I am know very late to drop the car off.

Good job I know the guy.

Hopefully someone will have the answer as to why this happens.

I had just put the dash back together after fitting olliezx's superb LED upgrade, looks good buy the way, so perhaps I have desturbed a wire.

It is also typical that this is the 3rd post of this kind in a couple of days.

Here is an interesting fact- kind of relavant to this thread.

Some may know some may not-but,

If you ever lock your keys in the car and have central locking (example- doors locked with the boot open and you shut your keys and remote in the boot) and you are miles away from home where your spare set is- you can simply phone someone at home on your cell phone and get them to unlock the car with the remote though the phone, hey presto the car will unlock! Tryed and tested works everytime!

My bit of useless, but helpful info!

Only problem I have now is that my turbo timer has gone south.

Probably knackered it jump starting the car cos the battery went flat cos the keys were locked in with lights, wipers radio etc running because I went to the shop to get the misses some fags.

Thats it its her fault.

Know who to blame knkow just going to go and beat her.

Hopefully the turbo timer is fixable but if not Bugger it.

Off for a cry.

Might well be the turbo timer went faulty and told the alarm it was safe to lock the doors?

Depends what kind it is and how it's wired in.

As far as I am aware the turbo timer is not connected to the locks.

I fitted after the alarm and it came with a harness that plugs into the ignition harness.

It was working before the, shall we call it, "KEY Incident" but is not working now that I have had to jump start the car.

It does say in the instructions to disconect before jump starting but hey who does that.

Will have to have a look when I get the car back.

Cheers for the advice earlier I used a similar method.

It's not but if your alarm has and auto arming feature like most CAT1's then it could be that the timer went faulty in a way that made the alarm think the car was switched off and so armed it?

A lot of alarms won't arm while the engine is running so you can't lock the keys in... turbo timers interfere with this.
