As above really? As I've stated before the real effect can only be achieved through replacing BOTH the valves AND the hoses, so please only post if this was the case. If you vote can you please state the symptoms before and after (after 200 miles have been covered) so we can try and build up some kind of idea on what can and can't be cured by replacing the PCV system.

Please NO posts about catch cans or how shit the PCV system is.

OR any posts about smoking tobacco/drugs etc ;)

Cheers,

Andy

Ive replaced my pcv valves tonight the old ones where fine anyway and car is still smoking looks like the turbo seal on the passenger side

Once doing the PCVs you need to give the car a good 200 miles for everything to settle down before you make a decision on whether the turbos are gone or not....

Cheers for the advice

Is this to do with oil that is already in the plenum chamber or is that a different problem

Yes there's oil in the pipes and plenum that needs to be cleared out.

It took mine about a week of driving to completely clear up :)

Empty the Sump of Engine oil! That will cure the smoking problem!  :D

I'm getting a burnt oil smell and a puff of whiteish/greyish smoke when I pull up at junctions and lights especially if as I pull up the revs dip slightly below the normal idle speed. Is this likely to be PCV valve related or something more sinister. There doesn't appear to be any smoking under acceleration.

Sorry bud, from experience on only 4 Zeds to your 20 (lol), smoking on rundown was not PCV's. Infact, they seem to do **** all lol in all three cases it was turbo seals, and never seen valve stems go on one.

Heavier oil prolongs the issues but in the end, seals it is.

URGENT... Please can someone help me, please!!! I'm trying to locate/contact a guy called 'Martyn' who is has disappeared along with my beautiful ZX (TT).
