  but immaculate

I am considering an offer of permanent work in Australia and was thinking of buying another one out there as it will cost loads. Not sure of the total costs involved though?

a mate of mine is emigrating to Oz and was going to take his car, he was just going to pay a set price for a container and you can put what you like in it includding the car and his furniture, not sure on price, can find out tho

You need to check on the Australian forum http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/ as the laws for importing cars are very different to here. Getting car models which were never officially imported into Oz is expensive and horribly complicated. Last time I looked (which was a couple of years ago) the only sensible thing was to buy one out there.

I'm not a shipping clerk. I am an agent for a shipping line. I manage their vessels.

ย

Anyway, shipping a car to NZ costs about ยฃ800, so Auz is going to be about the same. You then have to pay Aus reg fees and their tax/duty dependant upon value. That's pretty much it.

ย

As with Gio, they have strict rules and regulations governing imported cars.

hi bud ..

ย

and if you are only staying a month...do you need to Aus reg the car ...?????

ย

ย

...thank's wozza

ย

..

AFAIK, you can get a permit if the car is staying there less than 6months, ie, you'd drive it around on UK plates etc. Well, that's the case in New Zealand anyway. But you'd need to check with the Australian DMV.

Second hand cars are not cheap out there, I paid $2000 for the biggest pile of crap I could find, thats ยฃ800 ish and I tell you I have scrapped better cars.

ย

So with that in mind it might be cheaper to take Audrey with me, if and when I go.
