On a zed.

It's a rare SWB hardtop twin turbo manual.

Here are the details...

The only little niggles which its got is it sounds like one of the wheel bearings has gone which is going to be sorted by the time i get it.

It's also going to be checked out at Zedworld which is just down the road from the dealers garage and have a check over on it and make sure everything is running as it should be.

I'm so excited.

Will come with tax, mot and 1 years warranty.

What do you think? Any history with this car people know of?

Also, what should be its maximum boost? When I was test-driving it today the needle didn't particularly move much but the turbos seemed to kick in. The dash reads 0.4 to 1.4 on the boost gauage and I barely saw it go above 0.6 but I wasn't particularly driving it hard. What rpm should it be at max boost?

It sounds sweet as. Hope someone can answer my Q's.

Very nice!.

If the gauge is in Bar then 0.6 is just under 9psi (stock is 9.5psi), so if its just going above 0.6 then thats fine.

Full boost on stock tubs should be approx 3000rpm

Dont recognise the car....fresh import ?

I thought that and mentioned it to the bloke when I was test driving it. Why would it be in that and how do you get it out of it? Zedworld are going to test it all out and my deposit is refundable should there be any problems with it.

Cambelt etc has already been done and it idled perfectly.

Its had 1 previous UK owner. Sounds good news about the bar reader rather than psi. So most come with boost gauges in psi not bar?

I'm sure it went to 0.6 bar and if took a little higher upto the rev limiter would probably go above 0.6 bar.

Thats nice Chris, would look better with a leather interior tho, IMHO. ;)

It was weird driving it around when the clocks and spedo read in km. How much is it to convert the dash to mph so i know if im speeding in a 30 zone :)

you can buy a uk dash (rocking horse poo) for aprox £120 or get a converter box which also removes the limiter from £60 i think

What are these mods?

So with a UK clock/speedo its just a case of swapping them over?

It says on the spec it has a blitz ecu... would not that take off the limiter? Is this just another word for chipping it or is there a whole new ecu on it?

im only in cannock mate well have to meet up

dont worry to much about things

if the engine is quiet your half way there

ta chris

Thos pics are taken at Zedworld bud, Its been prepaired by them

and possably being sold by then through a dealer down the road

Hope its all good.

Another question... I've had an insurance quote which was fairly good on a UK manual twin turbo. I'm dreading come Monday when I ask for a quote on an import. Is it really gonna hurt my wallet that bad:(?

probably double what you have been quoted is the going rate.

probably double what you have been quoted is the going rate.

Depends who you ask  Flux tried to charge me £68 more for my uk then they did for my jap!!

Search the forums for unsurance mate. Phone as many as you can and good luck.

i would t bother paying zed world to check it , if theyve prepped it to sell, they wont even look at it you as they have checked it already you ll waste your money plus it has warrenty . very nice example very exclusive well done

ITs not my money im not paying them to check it. The garage im buying it off is sending it to them at their own expense. The wheel bearing has definately gone on the car so that will need to be done before I pick it up.

I'm praying I don't get raped on insurance.

Nice slicktop, you may have problems with a kph to mph converter because you have a after market veilside 320kph clock set .I would keep it in kph and get used to it .If not sell the clock set they are worth quite a bit £££. ;)

Yep stick with kph - you get used to it quickly.

Doesn't cause problems with the power steering too that way.

30 mph = 48.28 kph

40 mph = 64.37 kph

60 mph = 96.56 kph

70 mph = 112.65 kph

That is one gorgeous Z and, in my opinion, the ultimate spec. I was only looking at it on eBay this morning - I'm sooooooo jealous!! I had a swb slicktop but it had to go 'cos I need a 2+2 (baby on the way).

Insurance will be considerably higher than a UK so consider classic/limited policies, but mainly shop around. It might take few days on the phone/net to get the price down but it'll be worth it.

Slicktop's rule!!
