injector clips

There i am, brake pads and discs replaced, not driven cos cars been in garage for 4 months and i get the car back.

I get into the car, its running smooth and i pull up at some lights. A guy pulls up next to me, all looks. I decide that i've already won this race and i'm not even moving. just so he doesn't do it again, i decide to show him real power......

Lights change - Bang - i hit sixty in no time and see a white dot in my mirror................all of a sudden loss of power.

Put the car in SE and they said my number 5 coil connector wasn't sitting properly. Anyway, i was running on five valves. So embarrassing but i pretended to slow down and let the car pass cos i'd already proved my point.

Has anyone needed to replace their injector clips and coil connectors before?

Any idea how much the parts cost or where i can get some.

Take care and smooth riding ..... soon!!!

Unlucky bud!

I replaced my entire engine bay wiring loom, not me personally, SE did it in conjunction with my lump going back in.

You can get the coil connectors from Courtesy, they're usually sold as a set of four for the Pulsar GTi-R.

SE can splice a new plug on for you I should think or you can do it yourself if you get some decent replacements.

The injector clips are avail for about £1-2, not sure about the coil clips.

someone posted a link just a couple of weeks back, I think the thread was called something like 'look familiar'.

One of mine came off a couple off weeks ago whilst going for a frustration releaving blat up the road. Thought I'd fooked the engine properly this time, sounded awful and rattled a lot esp being only 4 pot to start with.

Jezz.

Happens to me sometimes, especially when I give it some wellie racing.

SE put some cable ties on mine, they help but one still comes loose occasionally.

I tried the site that AndyP posted above. Got a netaive reply from my enquiry. Said they were specific to Nissan. I'm not convinced, surely the injectors are a standard make so standard plugs should be available or perhaps I'm being dumb!

What you might find is that they are now classed as Captive Parts which means only Nelson Mandellas can supply them.

Who can supply them from this part no.

Be careful you order the right thing. Some on this thread are talking about injector clips and others seem to be talking about coil connectors.

I think what was described at the beginning was coil connectors. And, yes, very common for them to break. The plastic becomes really brittle.

Like someone else said above, I was never able to get a proper result with cable ties. But I never got round to doing the job properly either.

Dave

SE said that both the coil connectors and the injector clips needed to be replaced so i need to get them all done.

Hopefully should get a reselut today

Cheers
