is it possible to turbo a n/a zed ?

is it worth it ?

is it just cheaper to buy a twin?

your thoughts are very welcome

Featured Replies

the earlier z31 was a single turbo i was wondering if this same setup could be used on our engine. it means a custom fabricated exhaust manifold . the techies will be along shortly.

Unless you have the convertible (which was N/A only from the factory) then don't bother.

ย

It can be done - Topless did with his convertible but if you have a targa or slick-top then just sell it and buy a twin turbo. It's not worth the conversion cost and the car will not be worth any more for it.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

TO convert a NA to a TT it's about ยฃ2K labour plus the parts - you could get a crashed donor car for about ยฃ1500 and sell what you don't use.

ย

Still looking at ยฃ3K +++++++ unless you can do the job yourself.

It's not worth it unless there's a special reason (ie you want a convertible TT).

okso are the engines the same apart from the obvious turbo ecu ect becouse i was told the supra n/a is a weeker and drasticly diff engine from the turbo beast so can the same be said for the zed?

wouldnt really bother buying an na and turbo'ing it, just get a tubby there is plenty out there to be had, just be wary though

iv carried out a complete NA-TT conversion, and to be honest buy one from the start, you can just fit a set of Turbos, manifolds, intercooler/pipework upper water feeds, lower oil block feed and sump, and then run low boost/high compression, run without wastegate solenoids and fit a boost controller. Will still be quick due to the compression ratio. but limited on injectors, fuel pump, internals

i thought the valves were different on an na also????????

i thought the valves were different on an na also????????

you can still use NA heads, just a bit restrictave and major porting is required to even get a match of a TT head

for a true TT conversion you would use a TT block and pistons more suited to running higher boost.

but your right the exhaust valves are stronger on a TT made of iconel i think
