Anybody know anything about EBC brake discs, any good?

 

 

Hi Mate,

 

Mickey at ZWORKS has just fitted new EBC discs to mine in place of my Black Diamond ones which cracked under the heat generated.

 

They are just bedding in, but they seem a vast improvement over the Black Diamond ones.

I have them on the front of mine at the moment (still waiting to fit the backs). Upgraded the calipers as well though so couldn't really tell you if they are an improvement. They seem to last well under heavy braking however with minimal fade.

EBC hmmmm :x: Seen some of their 'work' and to say it leaves a lot to be desired is an understatement...

Never heard anything bad said about EBC by someone who has actualy used their stuff. Its always "I know this bloke..." Or "I heard that...."

 

To me always seams like conspiracy theorys when its never people who use the stuff that complain.

 

I used to use green stuff puds in my zed and they were a massive improvment over stock, only down side was they only lasted 3 months a time! But I do drive like a c*nt! :D

Again, its not that you have used them, where are the posts from the users of the EBC stuff that so bad is what I'm saying?

 

Doing a search for EBC in the titles of threads I’ve found in the entire history of this forum three maybe four actual users of EBC disks have had a complaint about them.

 

And seeing how much the people on this place moan about every little f*cking thing thats not bad for ANY manufacturer! ;)

I'm got them on my car with Hawk pads and I think they do the job very well

Well they've got to be better than the standard one's.

i have EBC disks and red stuff pads on my z all round, i think they are realy good !

oh and i think i can still get EBC disks and pads cheap. If any one is interested i can ask my man?

BUT ......you need to find what work's best for you !!!!!!!!!

 

as what work's for one mit not work for someone else.....

 

Is the car more for the track or the road,,,??? do you drive in all weather's or just in the summer..?????

Get some 3g's

 

They are a Brembo disc which 3g drill and groove and some how cheaper, well they were when i bought mine.

 

Try Smithy sure he does them and will supply pads too if needed.

oh and i think i can still get EBC disks and pads cheap. If any one is interested i can ask my man?

Brembo disc's with hawk pad's.....is what " I " like for the track,, but porterfields pad's are good for the Track ...but you need to put a lot of " HEAT " into them to get ,the best out of them .....and they FAD fast but give GREAT stoping power ,when hot ......

 

BTW what Caliper's,disc's and pad's do you have at the mo ,,,,,??????

 

as standerd tt caliper's ,,work well with some disc's and pad's ,,but if you have UP-GRADED your brake's ...i will need to know what you have ????

 

as brembo's,AP's and stoptech ,,will need different disc's and pad's to your standerd TT caliper's .....IMHO.....

with the standerd ,brake kit your brake's will FADE BIG time ,,on the track!!!!!

 

if you are going to do a lot of Track day's ....i think you should get a brake up-grade kit..i.e. bigger caliper's ....as the standerd brake's with bigger disc's will fade, by the time you have done 2/3 laps....IMHO...

 

IT all come's down to what YOU feel good with ,and your driving Style..!!!!!
