If it was absolutely mint with complete service history it might be worth £4000-£5000 at a push.

Autos never fetch quite as much as manuals.

If you buy from a garage they have to rectify any faults that occur in the first six months - which could be worth a lot.

Yeah they offer a 2 year extended warrenty which also covers the turbo's, But a £1000 too much it might not be worth it. I'll see if they will budge on it. I might be able to get them to give me more in px for my car and lower the price of the Nissan.

Agree....It's good that you are having a good look around find a goodin.

I am sure thier warranty will have a get out clause. "not covered as you drove it" or something

I would say that they are about a grand too much even with the warranty, it's a theme they have amongst most of the cars they sell also.

Id say its overpriced cos its white.

Maybe you should look at the fastest colour thread.

If it was red then id say its worth about £20k

Seriously though take a look at it and if you like it offer them a grand less than the screen price.

Nothing wrong with white ones :nono:

Thank you for the help. I'm going to talk to them later and see what they say. They have had it for a while due to the price. If they are willing to budge then i'll book a long test drive for sat, armed with the buying guide.

If it was really mint and straight I'd offer them £4K and go up to £5K at a push.

They may give you a warranty bookelt with various terms and conditions which may have exclusions.

But your normal consumer rights say if it sufferes a major mechanical problem in the first 3-6 months they'll have to sort it. It's peace of mind that someone isn't moving on a car that's about to go pop.

Check when the cambelt service was done - it's 60,000 OR every 5 years.

As a private sale it'd be worth £3500 max I'd say - although it's hard to put figures on a car without seeing it. It might be a total shed.

I've just got hold of prety much exactly the same spec as that (series 2) - and white - but a UK car, not an import. Also, mine has just had a major rebuild and service done and recon turbo's . I won't quote exact details but I got it for considerably less than £6k and it really is a true minter.

As said, I would say around £4k from a garage, up to an absolute maximum of £5k for a stunner including warranty.

:)

I'm not sure if it has been said already because I can't be arsed to read above!

But if it was me I would spend a bit less on an import and pay a little more for insurance.

Most of the UK Zeds are falling apart from rust. Maybe get one imported yourself or get one that has only been in the country for a short time. You will be much happier in the long run...

It does look a nice straight UK spec car, which is getting pretty rare now. That's been on Auto Trader for a good couple of months now though so in with an offer of £4500-5000. They'd do well to achieve the advertised price.

Also, looking at the other cars they have for sale, they could probably do with selling the ZX at a loss to make space for a much more expensive/profitable car........Take a chance and go for it.

Richard ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
