Can't help you there Simon, but (and sorry for hijaking) I am purchasing an AP clutch from Johnny.

Anyone know anything about these? Johnny has told me it should take up to around 420 lbs of torque or whatever it is lol smile.gif

Cheers

I've got a Centreforce and it's been fine. Done about 40k on it and it's just starting to go.

I have 357 RWBHP so make your own mind up about the capability.

Grant

I had a centerforce which really was pants compared to the life of my other clutches. I've seen some happy people and many unhappy people on twinturbo.net. Take my advice and get another make.

If you have over 450bhp at the engine, choose very carefully so it's lasts for a while.

My centerforce lasted about 3000miles, and it was completly shagged.

it was a very nice clutch though. Just make sure of your mods and where you want to go regarding power before you choose.

Simon, I've a CentreForce DF clutch fitted. On for about 12K miles and around 380 FWBHP. No problems so far. Nice action and feel (very similar to stock). It is important that these clutches are fitted correctly and clutch pedal set to correct specs and 500 mile break in before full power - see www.centreforce.com.

Thanks for all the replies guys, my car is not pushing out over 380BHP and I don't think I will mod it more than that. I will let you know how I get on with my choice.

Was the clutch shagged Simon, or are you just getting a better one mate?

I thought it was not quite on the bite when I drove it, it will be great when you get a good bite back and can lay down all that extra power bud! smile.gif

How much do your tuning friends charge for a new clutch and fitting mate?

All the best,

Hi Glen

Sorry I have not been in touch lately M8, but have been REALLY busy at work. Having someone strip the clutch out on the Island at the moment. Deffo the RPS clutch is shagged which would explain why it was under-performing when you had a drive. Can't make a choice of what clutch to go for. TT NET certainly don't seem to rate the centerforce DF after doing a search. Does anyone know where I could get a clutch that can handle a stage 3 Zed fairly quickly??????. Tried johnny boy and I am looking at a 10 day wait. Being an impatient bastard I need one sooner.

HELP!!!!!!

BTW Glen, Give me a bell when you are free and we can arrange a date to sort out your trims. Seez ya!

I got my centerforce originally from TDI.

They usually have stock.

I've had a Centre force now for 2 years, love it too, the mods just seem to be getting more all the time, so the power is gradually going up too,

Hi Smithy

What stage of mods is your car up to now??.

There seems to be lots of people saying that the centerforce can't handle a stage 3 Zed and wears out quickly!!Are they wrong M8??
