im andrew and 19 from swindon and am on a hunt for a 300zx now

yea i will look at subscriptions in a sec

 

originally i was looking at rovers but a good friend and i decided that we wanted 300zxs and did quotes

 

the rover i was going to insure was a 220 turbo and insurence was £2.4k

 

then i looked at the 300zx twin turbo manual and got quoted £2k

 

its not to bad considering for me to have a fiesta 1.1 was £1450

 

but in my eyes the 300zx is worth it

 

ive loved the 300zx since i was about 10 but didnt think i could insure it till now

Well for £600 more than a Fiesta 1.1 I think you're right!

Still a lot of cash though - I only pay £300 I must be getting old :rofl:

 

I had a Fiesta 1.1 company car with full RS factory fitted bodykit years ago.

People used to get out of my way on the motorway but I couldn't get past them :rofl:

Do it fella! get yourself one.

 

Just remember 300bhp on the rear wheels will kill you and your mates quicker than you can say LAMPOST! So be very carful. 19 you still new to driving no matter how good you "think" you are.

As above these cars are monster's but great. They can be also be expensive to look after and run for a lot of people.

 

Have you ever driven a rear wheel drive car before or anything this powerful?

 

Also be aware that there are some real nasty Zed's about that might look okay but are about to go bang on you.

 

Not trying to put you off or anything just take care when you go to choose that Zed. :)

 

Have a look at the site and ask loads of questions :)

umm had a bad year last year where i was a passenger in both

 

the first was when someone crashed up the back on us and did my back in and second was where my mate span on the motorway as a women in a laguna tapped the right hand side rear and we hit barrier at 70mph

 

so where cars are concerned speed is not the key unless its safe

Not wanting to Hijack the thread. But I'm a amte of Andy's. Just signed up too.

 

I'm Tim, 20 and from N.Hampshire (anyone near Alton/Basingstoke/Winchester/Guildford way?). After Andy sent me a link to an insurance site and I wet my pants at how much a 300zx would cost to insure. I'm really toying with the idea now. Hopefully when I'm sorted with a new job I'll be able to afford one.

With the money it's going to cost to insure, you might as well just buy 2 Z's and keep one for when you write it off :rofl:

Welcome both and good luck finding a nice Zed. I think your mad though paying 2 grand a year insurance........and that's on top of what its gonna cost to run!!!

Hi Mate I've got a UK spec Zed all booted and suited and its yours for £10k

 

no not really. I'd be lost without it, but good uk cars are getting harder to find and buying a dog will soon cost you £10k to put right so look at a good few.

 

There is a section on here which will tell you just what to look out for and once you've found one you think is OK, post and ask for someone from the forum to come and check it out. It could save you a fortune.

im in no rush to buy one - heard of the saying "good things come to those who wait" id rather wait for a good one to come up

 

as for yours - what u said your be lost with out it - i know what u mean

i plan to have a zed and look after it and keep it for as long as my finances can.

 

the first mods in there is to have leathers and nice audio setup (audio set will cost me about £1500 which isnt bad for whats on the list

 

i honestly woundnt mind a project one - i want to put skirts and bumpers on it anyways and theres alway z tech about 5 miles from me yay
