I thought they threw this out ages ago. Thats why the insurance groups (like Norwich Union) starting their pay as you drive insurance scheme.

Will have a digs and sign

Signed months ago as well  :)

This is legit - I've just been on 10 Downing St website The petition is on the 10 Downing St website but they didn't tell anybody about it.

Oh for gods sake!

How many people actually believe this crap!

That’s NOT an official document, anyone can add a petition on the website for anything they like.

I could add one to ban cheese if I wanted and then go about telling everyone

"THERE IS AN OFFICIAL CHEESE BANNING PETITION ON THE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE"

Or one more believable, say

"Stop the increase of car insurance to a basic rate of £1000 each no matter what you drive"

And people would flock to it screaming p1ssing and shouting QUICK MUST SIGN IT! ITS ON A GOVERNMENT WEBSITE!

This tracking cars idea is an old one, and that’s all it was AN IDEA! It wont be introduced, at least not until we are all well and past driving and by that point things like this will be the "norm" anyway. So sit back and relax, and ignore these stupid scare mongering Internet myths!

I agree. If it is going to be introduced, it'll be at least a decade away. You'll see the introduction of more toll roads before that happens.

...I also remember about 5 or 6 years ago, there was another road tax scare. It was supposedly leaked that the government were going to start charging tax rates for PLG vehicles over 2000CC up to £800 per year.

LMFAO - you don't have to give your full address, just house number and postcode will do.....

Erm that gives your full address.... Shows the level of intelligence of the people who actually fall for these :D

You have quoted me there making out that I'm a bit daft....I copied the whole thing straight from the ST forum and was asking the question. I couldn't be more relaxed.
