Im still not sure what to replace my zed with. (Third party wrote it off before xmas by T-boneing me! )

Ive been looking at gt4's but not had much look finding a decent one to be honest (after ST205 version). Im now wondering if I should get a GTS R33 ? They seem a really nice car, and although i know they are not the daddy GTR , i only use the car for maybe 15 miles a day during the week with the bigger runs at weekends. (That and the fact ive got upto £5000 to spend really so noway Ive got the cash for a GTR).

Anyone experianced with R33 GTS ? Will it feel slow compaired to my TT zed?

Ive looked through the skyline forumes but they not as helpful/friendly as people are here!

Cheers all

And a bit more fat on my problem, basically i dont know what car to buy! If you had about 5000 and were looking for a jap performance car, (not a zed as feel ive done that now with my old one..) what would you buy...?

So far ive looked at;

S14a 200sx

R33 GTS

GT4

Impreza (chav i know!)

early evo

Cosworths (chav but guilty pleasure of mine!)

Integra's

HELP! I just cannot make my mind up what car i want damn it!

I'd go for the S14a 200sx.

I was actually looking for one of these before I bought the Z. Nice cars IMO. The GT4 is a nice car but as you've discovered finding a good one at a sensible price is pretty hard.

I've been looking at gts's myself. Stock they are definately slower than tt zeds but they seem really tune-able. I think they have the potential to look really nice. Most of the ones that have been done up have a stupidly large front end that hangs much lower than the side skirts. The ones that are stock look a bit standard mondeo though.

Of course they are more spacious and practical but of course they're not sportscars.

The only Skyline to bother with really if you're going from a Z TT is a GTR. The GTS is reasonably confident and not a huge amount slower than the Z TT, although it is slower.

Out of all those though I'd go for the gts. I like s14 but they got a funny rear.

I used to own an s14 and the 14a definatly looks better! Guess i might go that route and try to buy back my zed, just move the choice bits across to the 200 then, should make for an aggressive drive then.. (thinking brakes, afm, braided hoses and anything else zed i could get on...)

Sorry to say it, but i dont really like the look of the rx7, im sure they are great cars but dont look great from the front!

I hear what you guys are saying about the skylines, i would love an r34 gtr but who wouldnt!

gt4

cheers mate, does look good, but damn those alloys look bad lol! cheers for the link though does look wat im after...

hiya mate, im from the skyline owneres forum, and happen to know about the gts as i have one ....

firstly there are several gts types botom of the range is the 2.0litre sohc ...so well discount that if youre used to a tt zed. next is the normally aspreated gts with twin cam 2.5 liter rb25de that makes in region of 200 bhp. nice car ..if you can find one with a manual box. mine is a auto and is relatively quick , but in comparison with apache's na zed its a little tame ..(factory stadard) these can go up to 230bhp ish with minimal mods.

top of the gts tree is the single turbo manual ...one ran 302 bhp last weekend on rr... these are very nice cars and relatively easy to live with as a daily driver (tho turbo issues as usual)

if ya went for gtr youd mebbe get 350 bhp, but at cost of 13mpg and two turbos that need lookin after .

final note there is an nice 245bhp auto normally asperated for sale at mo on our forum ...£3500 if ya interested ...

hope that helps

just re read your second post too... 5K will get ya gtr but an r32 and it may have been (ab)used hard ....youd get a nice r33gts (t) or na fro under 5k and have change to spend on interesting bits

Yes, thansk guys, im definatly looking at r33 gtst i guess (skyline wise) GT4 or an EVO.

I guess i might have to jump in and see how they drive, to be honest ive owned nissans about the past 4years so maybe due a change (200sx and the zed), although i do feel i know them reasonably well, and have datascan aswell, but maybe it is time for a change.

Thanks for all the help with this, just goes to show why this forume is so good, everyone is friendly and helpful about everything be it zed related or not!

Cheers all (just down to 3 car types now lol)
