You all have dubious parentage

I drove to Edinburgh and back at the weekend (via Derby), a grand total of 870 miles and how many Zeds did I see? A big fat zero.

I suppose you lot were all playing GT3 or out playing golf.

Next time I'll demand a Z welcoming party at the border (that's the border level with Watford Gap) to escort me into your strange Northern land

Gits the lot of you

Why via Derby, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm living in Derby and it seems a perculiar place to stop off!

Regards,

Peter

A friend of mine who's a complete technophobe had a couple of viruses on his PC so I did a bit of a detour to Wirksworth on Friday night to remove them.

Unfortunately they were much worse viruses than I thought so I couldn't risk networking my laptop to his PC and had to back up his files, ftp norton across a dial up line, then ftp the unpacking software (after having downloaded some decent ftp software of course), then got the latest virus updates and then some fiddling later managed to remove them by which time it was 7pm on Saturday.

Didn't get to Edinburgh until half past midnight but didn't miss the post-Beltane quarry party which was still going strong when I got dragged away at 5am. Top party, definitely worth the drive for that.

it must have cost you a pretty penny or two in petrol it costs me 80 quid to get to newport and back

next time gimme a shout before you come up. Im only 20 miles from edinburgh and work nights so am always cruising about edinburgh late at night. Come up on a friday or saturday and there are a LOT of cars cruisin the streets, a lot of modding goes on round here so let me know if you come up.

Dylan

I had the same thing with a 1200 mile round trip south the other week from central Scotland down to Kent and back. But I scoped one of our colleagues from here just south of Nottingham!

and Baba-Jan where are you? I'm 25 miles west of Edinburgh. Next time we'll defo arrange the welcome. - even show you some proper traffic free roads you can drive your Z properly on.

About £120 I think, I managed 360 miles on one tank on the way back, including quite a bit of time stuck in traffic on the M6. Approx 28mpg on that tank, a bit better than my usual 20-21mpg

The party was definitely worth £120, I've stuck some photos up at http://www.angelfire.com/pa/purplepaul/livejournal/quarry.html for those with a fire fetish
