Does anyone know if the ECU's are the same between NA and TT apart from the ROM?

Featured Replies

not sure but the auto-manual are different so i'd guess no. you may be able to run the tt one on the NA (less things for it to do) as the auto will run a manual ok but not the other way round (works to a point but its poo).

si.

I'm not sure the TT ECU does have anything else to control other than the different fueling etc and that will be taken care of in the ROM.

Yep, they certainly seem to be.

Have you tried swapping one Andy or is it a guess like me? LOL

can't see them being different - all the pins are the same afaik... PM AndyP or John Dixon for a definitive answer i guess!

Yep, and it worked. It was an auto TT into a manual NA.

Will it work the other way round though? Does the NA ECU have the outputs for the stock boost solenoids and the control output for the fuel pump controller?

Dunno, never tried it that way. The ECUs look identical, but who knows whether Nissan (who were far more interested in engineering than building cost effective cars) would have developed two separate ECUs. They certainly wouldn't these days.

Just what I was thinking.

Right, from the manual, the only differences are the WG solenoids and the extra connection for the subfan relay. I've got both an NA and 2 TT ECUs open in front of me and these outputs are both connected on all 3 ECUs. It looks like the outputs are there and the only difference is indeed the ROM.

Interesting though, the NA is missing some components that the others have. Tracing these reveals that its the AIV control which was dropped on 93+ - the NA ECU is a 93 :) So the AIV delete wasn't just done in the ROM, they actually removed the components as well....
