Rear axle offset. Why??

This is my second Z and on both thr axle has been offset to one side by about 15mm. Is this normal and if so, why is it like that?

 

Can I put a spcer on one wheel to even it out or is that a bad idea?

    could be something to do with the rear steering mechanism. check both sides of the wheel on both sides of the car. if there is wear in the rack i would think it would be possible for it to be out.

    Are you sure you don't have a Jap spec wheel on one side and a UK on the other? I've seen that before and the difference would be about right...
