Got a few projects to get on with with my week off work (just hope I'm not bunged up with cold still )

Got to strip the old Sony head unit and CD Multichanger out. Take the dash clocks and side pods out, and generally remove loads of interior panels (again  )

All so that I can fit....

A new head unit....

Along with, as a few guessed correctly, a rear view camera...

Install my new white clock set...

And fit a load of new LED's :D

It should be an interesting week for me ;)

Oooooopppssss! Forgot the other important bits.... ;)

I'm fitting three of these...

Boost, Oil Temp & Oil Pressure.

Into one of these...

TBH I'm not entierly sure yet :D

Possibly next to the numberplate, but I haven't decided for sure. They say it can fit in a key hole!! Must be a bloody big key hole then!! It's 38mm diameter!

You got your hands full,

I'm fitting an oil pressure myself, and fabricating a hicas elimination bracket (pics will be forthcomming) and changing out a steering rack gaitor and tightening my fan belts and doing something about not having fog lights.

i would offer a hand dave as im off work for the week but a little far !!!!

its the thought that counts ;)

Cheers Tony, nice thought :duffer:

Awesome, wish i had the time to fit my ice system

This is what I get for being on shifts, after a week(read 7!!) of nights I get a full (again read 7!! ;) ) week off work :D But then I'm getting two extra off this time as I feel crap at the mo :( so I'm not going in tonight or tomorrow!

Dave , that,s the same camera that Daz ( mantav8 ) has just fitted to his tranny van , it,s got great picture quality

I'm sure most people would say you don't need one in a Zed, and TBH I'd agree, but it wasn't expensive, and the head unit has the facility built-in so i thought I'd go for it.

It might impress the chicks when they're in the passenger seat ;)

Fit one in the sun visor with a light and you'll never have to talk to them, they'll be too busy fixing their hair and lipstick :D

Liking the dials!! Something I shall be doing when I get round to getting UK clocks. I already have the chrome rings sitting in a bag waiting to go on, but unsure if the white dials AND chrome rings together will be a little too much.

I'll post up pics when it's all in place, as I've got the chrome rings as well :D

Incidentally, when lite up at night, all dials (dash and pillar) will match with rear red illumination (ala 99 spec dials)

Little known fact, did you know that the 99 spec came with an option for a dvd player?

Ok, it never came with pillar pod gauges or a rear camera, but I can live with that ;)

Did '99ers have red dial illumination then?

DVD player? Really? That's quite impressive actually.

Very interested to see what the illumination will look like and the dials. Keep us posted mate.

Are you fitting white LED and red LED dial bulbs?

Hi Dave,

Where did you get that camera from and how much please.CheerZ Chris.

Si, I have chrome rings and Vijay's indiglo dials together and they look great.

The rings looks great even on standard black dials.

In fact, when I see a speedo without the rings now, it just looks wrong somehow.

Night shot then!! You owe us that much!!

Hmmm.... hold on.....

Edit - have night pics of dash but no resizer on this comp.

Hi Dave,

It came from eBay bud, just type reverse camera into the eBay search box and they'll all come up, loads and loads of them :D

Incidentally mine is a night vision one, as that's what I'd want it for, just a bit of extra reassurance in the dark (it's infra-red) You can also find just normal daylight versions as well. So if it's for day as well as night, make sure, in the spec on the auction, that it states that the LUX is as low a 0, nothing higher, or it'll be useless in the dark!

HTH

Side pods finished :D All red background illumination, with blue lighting for the individual switches when switched on (if that makes sense?)

Also installed a red and blue for the heat control (Red top, Blue bottom) as per this pic (this is NOT my pod).......

I've also installed a new LED for the Hazard switch.

Full pics when I can take a decent one, and after I've installed the new clock set-up. (Hopefully tomorrow)

Flipping eck! The new Red LED 501's behind the new dash are fookin bright!!

New white dials all in place. There was a slight hic-up half way through, but all sorted now :D Complete with Red 501's fitted and a special addition for the low fuel lamp ;) It's a flashing LED, so as to grab you attention a bit more than a dull pale lamp would.

New A pillar pod fitted with all three gauges installed..... they don't work yet, but they're in place :D

Well that's it for today anyway, getting cold and dark out there now.
